Are you stuck!?

I hear things like this all the time:

“I don't really have a story - it's not that kind of game.”

"Something feels off, but I can't figure out what."

Everything in your VR experience communicates something: the world you built, the way players move, the tone, the mechanics. I help VR creators make those pieces work together to create something cohesive, meaningful, and memorable.

Whether you're designing your first project, stuck on a specific challenge, or figuring out your path in VR, bring what you've got and we'll work through it together.

Great for:

  • Designing story-driven VR games or experiences from concept

  • Detailed critique of your level design, pacing, or player journey

  • Guidance on Unity implementation approaches (interaction design, scene flow, using audio for narrative impact)

How can I help?

I'm a VR designer and developer who's taught VR design at XR Terra, worked as lead designer and coach for Justin P. Barnett's VR Creator Accelerator Program, and currently develop my own story-driven VR games (Shadow Mend - official selection at FIVARS 2024).

Here's what people say sets me apart: I finish things. Music albums, a children's program released on DVD, VR games - I ship projects.

AI can give you answers, but sometimes you need another human to ask the right questions about your narrative choices, how mechanics serve your story, whether your pacing works. And the secret to actually shipping? Knowing what to cut is as important as knowing what to build. I help clients think through their design, scope realistically, and manage the creative chaos.

You're a student or emerging VR designer building your skills and portfolio.

You're switching careers and exploring XR.

You're a solo developer working on a narrative project.

You want a fresh perspective on your VR storytelling.

You think my background could help with something else - that's cool too!

 FAQs

  • We'll meet via Google Meet. You'll receive the meeting link in your confirmation email after booking. I use Calendly to book calls.

  • Not required, but helpful! If you have files, links, screenshots, or specific questions you want to cover, feel free to send them after booking by replying to the confirmation email. This helps me come prepared to give you better feedback.

  • Come with a specific challenge or question you want to focus on. The more focused we are, the more actionable your takeaways will be. If you're not sure what to focus on, that's okay too. We can figure it out together in the first few minutes.

  • These sessions are collaborative and confidential. We’ll dig into your specific challenge or question, and I’ll ask questions to understand your vision and what you’re trying to create. If it helps, we can screen-share and look directly at your project, prototype, or concept materials. You’ll leave with clarity, direction, and concrete next steps.

  • These sessions focus on design feedback, creative direction, and strategic guidance. I can offer guidance on implementation approaches, but I won't be troubleshooting bugs or writing code during our time together. For complex projects or technical challenges, we may identify next steps that extend beyond our session time.

  • Possibly! While I specialize in VR narrative design, I have over 20 years of experience across graphic design, music, film and video, content creation, and creative project management. I also work with writers on narrative structure and story flow.

If you think my background might be a good fit for what you’re working on (whether it's transitioning from traditional media into XR, freelance workflow, or something else entirely) just let me know when you book.

  • Currently, sessions are booked individually. Many people find it helpful to check in over time as their projects or career directions evolve, and you're welcome to book additional sessions whenever you need them. I may offer package options in the future, but for now I'm keeping things simple while I get to know what people find most useful.

  • Payment is required at the time of booking. You may cancel for a full refund or reschedule up to 24 hours before your session.

If something comes up within 24 hours of your session, I’m not able to reschedule or refund, since that time is already set aside for you. If you don’t arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, the session will be considered a no-show and is non-refundable.

Because you are booking my time and expertise, sessions are non-refundable once they have taken place.
